About
Tharini Sankarasubramanian (b. 1991, Chennai, TN, India) relates to art making as a spiritual practice. Her work spans drawing, painting, and fiber art, visualizing inner experiences through geometric abstraction, symbolism, and spiritualist themes.
Inspired by her direct experiences and esoteric cultural traditions in India, Tharini seeks to visualize ideas of consciousness, mysticism, and philosophy through her art. She holds an MFA in Graphic Design and Visual Experience from the Savannah College of Art and Design. In 2024, she completed a residency at Residency Unlimited in Brooklyn, NY.
